Beef Pockets are one of the most popularly prepared savoury snack. Spicy flavourful beef stuffed in amazing soft and delicate dough. Here I have skipped the deep frying to encourage the healthy edge for preparing this dish. Lets get started on this relishing snack!
Ingredients
Beef - 1/2kg
Chilli powder- 1bsp
Pepper-1tsp
Garlic powder-1/2 tsp
Garam masala-1/4tsp
Fennel-1/4tsp
Asafoetida (as needed)
Salt
Onions 2 large diced
Ginger small piece diced
Garlic -5 cloves diced
Coriander leaves
Tomato sauce- 1tbsp
Pocket batter
All purpose flour 1cup
Required water
Oil
Method
Pressure can the beef with first set of spices mentioned above. Then,after cooling off, add it in chopper to get it in a smashed form perfect for filling.
After finely chopping the beef, saute onion, ginger and garlic. Add 1/2 tsp chilli powder (spicy), 1/4 cumin, 1/2tsp pepper, 1 tbsp tomato sauce. To this add the chopped beef and milder roast in oil.
To prepare the pocket batter, whisk together 1 cup all purpose flour and water (In the form of dosa batter).
In a pan spread the batter like dosa, cook on both sides.
Grease butter mildly for flavour. Fill the centre portion with cooked beef filling. Fold it from all 4 sides and join with maida paste. Cook well and serve hot with tea or coffee.
