The Masala Chai is delicious Indian milk tea made with a blend of spices such as cardamom and ginger. There are many versions of this tea, but this recipe is a fine filter of what I researched and made the best results and won a great deal of appreciation.

Ingredients

Milk 3/4 cup

Water 1 cup

Ginger 1/2 inch

Cardamom 4

Cloves 6

Cinnamon 1/2 of a stick

Jaggery 1/2 tsp

Sugar (as needed)

Nutmeg 1/4 tsp

Pepper 1/4 tsp

Tea powder 1 tbsp

Directions

1.

Boil the water. When it starts boiling, add the above said spices and finally tea powder. (Slightly dice the ginger).

2.

Adjust the sweetness with jaggery and sugar. Boil for about 5 minutes after adding milk.

3.

Keep the lid closed to set and filter it. Transfer the masala chai into a cup and serve it hot with snacks or cookies
