Beef- Kerala Style (semi dry)

Nadan Beef (Spicy Beef Kerala Style) is a tasty and spicy traditional recipe from Kerala, South India. It is an indispensable dish for Keralites/Malayalees. This delicious Naadan Style Beef Fry in many ways, defines how Kerala cuisine is. The strong flavors of this dish will forcefully make you fall in love with it.



Ingredients For Marination * Beef 1/2 kg * Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

* Chilli powder 1 tsp

* Kashmiri chilli powder 1 tsp

* Coriander powder 2 tbsp

* Fenugreek 2 tsp

* Garam masala 1/4 tsp

* Meat Masala 1 tsp

* Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp

* Garlic powder

* Salt * Pepper powder 1/4 tsp * Salt to taste

* Hot water as needed

For Masala * Coconut oil 2 tbsp * Onion diced 2 cups * Ginger 1 inch, minced * Garlic cloves 3, crushed * Meat masala 1 tsp * Fennel seed powder 1/2 tsp * Green chilli 2, sliced * Curry leaves 2 sprigs * Pepper powder 1/2 tsp, adjust to your taste * Salt to taste



Preparation 1. Pressure cook the beef along with marinated seasonings. Add some water to avoid burning.

2. Heat coconut oil in a pan. Add onions diced, coconut slices, ginger and garlic, curry leaves and green chilies. Sauté well. 

3. When onion turns translucent add spices, saute until the raw smell goes.

4. Add cooked beef along with gravy. Pour hot water as needed. Add salt, and more curry leaves. Add pepper powder and Garam Masala to it if needed. Open the lid it and cook until its done on a low - medium flame.

5. Switch off the heat when the gravy thickens and oil separates on the top. Let it rest for few minutes. Enjoy with Kerala Porotta or Rice.
